BowlGrade Search foods

Privacy policy

Effective

BowlGrade is a static website. There are no accounts, nothing to log in to, and no personal information is required to read any of the 122 food pages.

What we collect

Almost nothing. The site is pre-rendered HTML served from a static host; the host keeps standard server request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and traffic accounting, as every web server does. We do not build profiles from them, and we do not combine them with anything else.

What is stored in your browser

One thing: your light/dark theme choice, written to localStorage under the key bi-theme when you use the theme toggle. It never leaves your device and is not a cookie. If you never touch the toggle, nothing is stored and the site follows your operating system's preference.

Calculators and search

The cost calculator and the feeding calculator run entirely in your browser. Prices, weights and portions you type are never transmitted to us, and nothing is stored between visits. Search works the same way: the index is a static file your browser downloads once, so queries are matched locally and no search term is ever sent anywhere or logged.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-0RPDL7MBXF) to count page views and see which pages people find useful. It is not cookieless: it sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from another, and it sends your IP address, the page you are on, where you came from and basic device information to Google, who process it for us and may store it outside your country. We do not use it for advertising and have not turned on Google Signals or ad personalisation. Nothing you type into the search box is ever sent to it. Google's privacy policy covers what they do with it, you can opt out with Google's browser add-on, and any tracker blocker will stop it as well.

When you click an outbound affiliate link, the destination merchant and its network may set cookies to attribute the referral. Their privacy policies govern that data; we receive aggregate commission reports, not your personal details. Which links those are, and which brands they involve, is set out on the affiliate disclosure page.

Email

If you email us — a correction, a reformulation report, a question — we use your address only to reply and to keep a record of the correction. We never sell it. If recall alerts launch, they will be opt-in and every message will carry an unsubscribe link.

Your rights

EU/EEA and UK residents (GDPR) and California residents (CCPA/CPRA) may request access to, or deletion of, any personal data we hold. Typically that is nothing beyond email correspondence. Write to [email protected] and we will confirm what exists and delete it on request.

Changes

If this policy changes — a new analytics provider, a new merchant network, an email list — the change is dated here and logged on the corrections page along with every other change we make to a published page.
